SP Daylight #4449 in Eugene, Oregon - May, 1991

In May, 1991, the SP "Daylight" engine #4449 and the entire consist painted in classic
orange SP "Daylight" colors, passes through Eugene, Oregon,
en-route from Portland to Sacramento.
This "GS-4" 4-8-4 "Northern" engine was built by Lima in 1941, and was retired from
regular service in 1957, but has been used on many occasions since, including the
American Freedom train in 1975-76 and is still being maintained for future trips.
You could hear its whistle from miles away, no mistaking when it was passing through town.
