Denver, Colorado - May 22, 2011 - Part I
Here are some photos of the Denver-area light rail lines known as the RTD (Regional Transit District).
These were all taken on Sunday, May 22, 2011.
We started out at the "Arapahoe at Village Center" station, on the E/F line.
This station is 3 stops from the end of the longest line to the southeast of Denver.
Here's the parking lot (on a Sunday) and the pedestrian overpass to the station.

We cross over Interstate 25 using the pedestrian overpass,
in the far distance you can see the overpass for the next station (Orchard).

Looking down at the platform, and at the fountain of an adjacent building.

A couple views of the station area as we wait for our inbound train.

An outbound train approaches from the north...

...and here comes our "E" train inbound.

A bit of snow on the Rockies to the west, taken through the plastic train window...

...and a train coming the other way a bit further up the line.

We disembark at "10th-Osage" to transfer to a "D" train to downtown, rather than staying
on the "E" which was bound for Union Station. These photos are at the "10th-Osage" station.

Note the Union Pacific has quite a collection of diesels just across the way.

Our "D" train arrives at "10th-Osage" from the south.

Crossing sign taken through the window as we approach downtown, this is right near "Colfax at Auraria"
where there are a few street crossings before the trains get to the station under the Convention Center.

Coming out from the Convention Center station, we turn right onto 14th Street for one block
to California Street, while an outbound train can be seen in the far distance along Stout Street.
