Denver, Colorado - May 22, 2011 - Part II
Here are more photos of the Denver-area light rail lines known as the RTD (Regional Transit District).
These were all taken on Sunday, May 22, 2011.
After turning on to California street, we head 2 blocks northeast to the 16th Street station.
This is the station stop. The trains have a reserved lane in the direction opposing traffic.

The rear of our train leaving 16th & California, this line continues 6 more stops to the northeast.

Here are two street shots at 16th & California, the first looking southeast, and the second looking northwest.
This street is known as the "16th Street Mall", and is pedestrian-only except for the frequent shuttle buses.

One block away, at 16th & Stout, the "outbound" trains have a stop, also in a reserved lane opposing traffic.

Here are 4 candid images taken along 16th Street, the clock tower is the Daniels & Fisher Tower built in 1910.

A few more views near 16th & Stout of an outbound "D" train to Mineral (the Littleton area south of Englewood).

On our return trip, we needed to transfer again from the "D" to an "E",
and this time we make the transfer at the "I-25 & Broadway" station.
Here's our southbound "D" leaving the station...

And here's an approaching "H" train (for the "Nine Mile" branch) pulling in.

Another view of the snow on the Rockies to the west, zoomed in a bit.

And finally, four more shots taken at "I-25 & Broadway". This station has 3 tracks,
two for outbound and one for inbound trains.
