Middletown, NY - Summer, 2011 - Erie photos

These were all taken on July 7, 2011, in Middletown, New York.

In downtown Middletown, the old Erie station still stands proudly but is now the library.
All trackage was removed from the immediate downtown station vicinity shortly after 1984,
when commuter service was rerouted to the Graham Line, which circled a bit to the north of town.

The new Middletown commuter train station is single-tracked and in the Town of Walkill,
about 2 miles east of downtown in the Mall/Galleria area just southeast of Routes 17 and 211.

Here we see train #64 (eastbound to Hoboken) arriving in Middletown on time at 1:57 PM.

...and departing into the distance to the east (zoomed in a bit).
This is the same trainset seen in Port Jervis on my earlier page (Port Jervis - Part I).
