The following photos are all of vintage Erie-Lackawanna operations at Waldwick, NJ.

E-L GP7 #1406 heads Suffern-bound train #1165 westbound at the Chestnut Street
grade crossing, Allendale, NJ (just north of the Waldwick yard) in October, 1969.



Eastbound train #1174 passes WC Tower (Waldwick) led by a GP7 in October, 1969.

Alco RS-2 #906 puffs as it pulls Suffern-bound train #1163 out of Waldwick Station
at 2:49 PM on a warm day in August, 1970.



Alco RS-3 #926 leads Suffern-bound train #1165 at Waldwick (4:21PM) in August, 1970.



Two EMD SDP45's pull an eastbound fast freight past WC tower in January, 1971.

Alco RS-3 #920 on train #1166 departing from Waldwick station on January 22, 1971,
at 12:43PM. Just a few days later, these vintage trainsets were to be replaced by the new
push-pull trainsets with Pullman-Standard coaches and U34CH engines.



A GP7 pulling a vintage Erie-coach 2-car train can still be seen in the Fall of 1971.
This was taken after the new pedestrian overpass was built and the tunnel walkway
demolished. At the left is the lumberyard and siding with a few freight cars.
