Photos from the Robert Fischer collection
These photos were sent to me by Robert Fischer and are posted by permission.
I've always enjoyed the memory of this DL&W station at the base of Garrett Mountain, Paterson, New Jersey,
on Marshall Street (Lackawanna Plaza). It was torn down in the early 1970's due to I-80/Route 19 construction,
but was abandoned several years earlier with the re-routing of Boonton Line service via the Erie Greenwood Lake branch.
First two photos - photographer unknown - street view and westbound trackside view.
DL&W high bridge over the Passaic River and McBride Avenue, West Paterson - photo by William T. Greenburg.
Looking eastbound (from the Totowa side) on January 27, 1962.
E-L Boonton line train on center portion of the high bridge with ex-DL&W coaches, circa 1962 - photographer unknown.
