Rail Lines in the Wilkes-Barre, PA area, 2010
October 31, 2010 and November 20, 2010

This is the first set of rail photos from the Wilkes-Barre area,
I will be adding more sets (hopefully) as time progresses.

Two shots of a Luzerne & Susquehanna train on Halloween day, 2010,
hauling cars marked "Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus",
taken at the crossing at West End Road and Sans Souci Parkway (south Wilkes-Barre).

The next several photos were taken along the ex-CNJ line, from the Mountain Top area down to White Haven.
All the following photos on this page were taken on Saturday, November 20, 2010.

Some cars in a small yard area just east of Mountain Top along route 437.

The "Penobscot" tower and Reading & Northern #803, along route 437 south of Mountain Top.

A Canadian Pacific freight along county road 27, some of the cars were hauling new automobiles.

Rail overpass over Tunnel Road, about 4 miles north of White Haven, PA.

A few views of the "west" portal of the 1840's era CNJ White Haven tunnel, about 3 miles north of White Haven...

..and of the east portal in a ravine, along with an old CNJ mile marker.

A few views in the town of White Haven, the caboose was in a parking lot across the way.

These are from Weatherly, PA (Reading & Northern).

In Weatherly, an old CNJ caboose and LV hopper car, and the shop next to them.
