Asheville Mountainside Retreat...

Comfortable, quiet, bed & breakfast-style guest room
in a rustic mountainside home in Asheville, NC...

Private outdoor deck areas, sun room, extra retreat / study space, wireless internet

Our guest room is a fairly large, comfortable bed-and-breakfast-style accomodation with almost all amenities you would expect from a quality hotel, as well as extra retreat areas. It has a private entrance facing the uphill slope of the mountain, private bathroom with shower, and provides an almost cabin-like feel, and is definitely "off the beaten path". We are generally available on the premises for any extra assistance or amenities you may need. We extend our welcome to friends, businesspeople and travelers looking for a quiet, refreshing alternative to a "chain" hotel, with a personalized touch, even if just for one night. It's in a separate wing of an unusual hand-built rustic private home, started in the 1980's and gradually expanded over the years, with a solar-power backup and a mountain spring-fed water supply. The guest room was newly built in the fall of 2002. Great for a romantic getaway or just to experience a bit of nature. We generally prefer mature individuals or couples, no dogs please, (one cat possibly OK). Bringing young children is discouraged due to terrain hazards, etc. Guests are expected to maintain a peaceful, quiet demeanor. College-age couples and outdoor enthusists are also welcome. The basic 1-2 day rate is $85 per night, a bit lower for more than two nights. The retreat room can accomodate 1 extra person on a twin size sleeping area, or possibly 2 on our spare queen size mattress on the center floor area (a bit more primitive) for a slight extra charge (for sleeping purposes). Day use of this room (for sitting, reading or study) is complimentary for all guests. This second room is not currently air-conditioned. There is also an enclosed outdoor sun room for guests, which is easily accessible from either room.
Complimentary sodas, juice, fruit, and self-serve breakfast items included in the room & refrigerator. If you wish, we can provide a hot breakfast or custom items (pastries, toast, eggs, extra carafe of coffee, etc.) on most days when requested in advance. We hope your stay will be a quiet and relaxing getaway.
